Civic Living at Houlton, Rugby, delivers 38 low-carbon homes developed by Urban & Civic, the UK’s leading master developer. As the first ever installation of the Mauerwall system, the scheme showcases how precision-engineered facade panels can capture the depth and craftsmanship of traditional brickwork while meeting the demands of modern, offsite construction.
To reflect Rugby’s rich architectural heritage, the homes feature a dual palette of brick colours in a Flemish bond pattern with contrasting headers – all faithfully recreated using Mauerwall’s design flexibility. The system’s compatibility with both offsite and on-site installation made it ideal for this hybrid project, enabling the seamless connection between factory-built modules and on-site elements at key interfaces.
With its ability to accommodate tolerances, accelerate installation and maintain the character of hand-laid masonry, Mauerwall proved the perfect solution for a development that combines design integrity with efficient delivery.
